Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care with Foundation Year is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the health and social care sector, and equip them with the knowledge and skills required to make a positive contribution to this field.

The programme consists of four years of study, the first of which is a foundation year designed to prepare students for the subsequent years of the course. The foundation year covers key topics such as academic writing, research skills, and personal and professional development. The subsequent three years of the programme cover a range of modules including health promotion, public health, social policy, mental health and illness, leadership and management in health and social care.

Entry Requirements

Under 21 year old applicants for Foundation year programs must have 32 UCAS tariff points from at least 1 full A level or accepted equivalent qualification.

We welcome mature students with few or no formal qualifications. If applicants do not meet the standard entry requirements but can demonstrate that their life/work skills would make them suitable for undergraduate study, they will be considered for our Foundation program.

Any previous relevant work experience and learning will be assessed and, where appropriate, accredited as part of the application process.

All Applicants should have GCSE English Language at grade C/4 or higher or accepted equivalent qualification.

Fees & Finance

The fees for the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care with Foundation Year vary depending on the institution, but generally range from around £9,000 to £12,000 per year for UK and EU students. International students may be required to pay higher fees. Financial support, such as loans and grants, may be available to eligible students to help cover the cost of tuition fees and living expenses.
